Not sure if magnetos are super expensive things, or something that people have lying around after converting an industrial to put in their beetle.

If it is the latter, just wondering how much you would sell it for. I'd like to adapt one for my typeIV motor (if it's possible) for an emergency spare.

Once my van is registered again, it's going to do a lot of traveling. And the last thing I want is to be stranded in the middle of nowhere with some random dead electric component. Whether it be regulator, alternator, fanbelt (not electric, I know), coil, or distributor.

Well, all that and I'd love to play with one, even though I know they aren't the best solution by a long shot. It would also give me the incentive to do something I have been wanting to do for years. Retrofit a crank handle lug thing. This is because my van loves to have strange electrical failures at the worst possible moments. It'd be the ultimate limp home solution.

I'm in no hurry for this, so I'll just let this request sit. post or message me if you have anything to say please. This post seemd more of a buy and sell than general or tech, so I put it here.
