I need a new handbrake cable, is there a way of manufacturing your own or do I need to use a standard one and cut it down (shortened pan) if I cut down a standard how do I join the end bit ?

I dream of a day when a chicken can cross a road without being asked for it's motive!

I bought standard VW handbrake cables, then took then to a Boat Chandlery and told them what length I wanted. Only cost about $12 to have them shortened I think
