I need a new engine in my 69 beetle. I am just looking for something fairly stock for my daily driver, nothing fancy.

Can anybody recommend someone around Brisbane who can look after me and also tell me who steer clear of.

Firstly, do you have a budget ? and secondly, can you do any of the work yourself (i.e dissassembly/re-assembly)?

It may be a case of comparing costs between a rebuild or buying a new long block.

Mick Motors (at Northgate) can do both. they should have some new ones in stock.

If your current donk is serviceable, it will be a cheaper option (i.e. if most parts are usuable and just require machining).

If u are in no rush, i sometimes see complete engines for sale on this forum.(but not often in or around the brisbane area).

I could manage installing a new long block, so I guess a rebuilt exchange long block would be my best option.
