Might be a stupid question, but..... new wheel bearings are covered in a protective oil, do you need to remove it before packing and installing? If so, what do you use? I've read that petrol, thinners and air are bad for these bearings, or am I just reading crap again.....🤪

Cheers Luke

Not really necessary unless you really want to do it, and just when you think there is enough grease in there put some more in! 😂

They are clean in the protective wrapping, the washing increases the chance of contamination, use good quality high temp grease . Les

NO...

Just make sure You Use the BEST grease... MOLY Grease..
which is a blackish/purple colour...
the Lithium based Molybdenum disulphide Grease is the ONLY one to use... it WILL make a big difference...

YOu may never need to replace bearings again...
also use this grease on the front end...
and in CV Joints if You have them...

Pack as much in as possible..

cheers

LEE

PS: I've been using Lithium based Moly Grease since the 70s... LEE
