Type III IRS axle lengths

Hi all,

I am trying to get a set of good quality sway-away IRS axles for my type III. The only issue is none of the suppliers I am talking to, know the length of these axles.

I am interested to know the standard lenth of a manual type III IRS axle. I am also interested to know the length of the smaller automatic type III IRS axle. (Uneven lengths.)

Does anyone know these lengths?

Stock length is 415mm and is the same at the type one.

Auto type 3 left axles are 390mm and I guess the right side is 440mm.

I think SAW sell a 15 5/8 length axle for bus trans in a type one or three.

...and I think a 16.25 or 16.375 for bug style trans.

Thanks Dave. As you can guess, time to strengthen everything. The rear has been narrowed, which is why I'm asking about the axle lengths, I may go back to stock widths.
