G'day everyone,
Each weekend brings me a step closer to the finish of the buggy rebuild!!!!
Quick question:
Is it ok to use new fuel hose to connect between the brake fluid reservoire and the master-cylinder?????
(i'm pretty sure this would be ok but just wanting to make sure there's not some crazy ingredient in brake fluid that corrodes only fuel hoses!!!!!! 🤪 )
What have others used??? This is a buggy so i'm unaware if there is a factory-type tubing/hose available - sorry.
Cheers,
Marty
😏 Gotta love a Buggy!!! 😏
I'd be doing it properly. Whilst the fuel line MIGHT last, its not designed for that purpose.
I'm rebuilding a Formula Vee at the moment and I'm using steel bundy tube for the main lines and stainless brake line for the flexible areas.
The stainless line isnt DOT legal as the clamps on the end are removable. You have to have a hose with a permanent crimp at the fittings to be legal.
If its offroad only, I'd go with the above. It aint cheap, but its quality shite.
If its a roadgoing buggy, Go talk to a brake shop and get the right part first time. Will save you heartache later. They can make anything you need if you talk to a decent brake mob that does their own hoses.
Just my 2 cents worth....
