Okies so i think i have diagnosed my issue, when i accelerate i need to pump the accelerator to get her going, then it will be ok, but if i take my foot off then put it down she just putters and i need to pump again.

Sounds like a blocked jet (from what i have read)

How easy is this to fix? it is a visible problem?

very easy to fix just remove carby but you need a compressor or someone that has
once of the car pull it to peices sounds scarey but simple as they only go in the right place so remove the top than all brass cover nuts remove all jets than blow air into and through all holes than inspect all jets and blow them to inspect all gaskets but if ya careful you should get away with the old one
good luck

as per above but get a wire brush and prob the jet holes as well ( nuthing like probing a hole LOL )

sometimes GUNK builds up inside and it wont move with air

maybe the little one way valve is stuck as well the carby body may need soaking to soften the build up then blow out you will hear it rattle when shaking the carby body
I read it on FACEBOOK so it must be true

As well as checking the carby jets & accel. pump...
It might be the fuel pump no longer pumping properly, or maybe an almost-blocked fuel filter?

Hiya eraser,

I would strongly suggest that you NOT do this. Steel wire from a wire brush can easily scratch a brass jet. That's something you definitely do not want to do. If you absolutely have to clean out the jet use something softer than brass. A plastic brush fiber would work well.

However, I have found that if you let most any jet soak in carb cleaner long enough a good shot of air will do quite a nice job of cleaning it out.
