Hi,
I drove my Beetle down the South Eastern Freeway yesterday. A long ride made longer due to the rain and traffic jam.
It seemed to be running rough though as if I had changed from 2nd gear to 1st gear by mistake - something like that.
Even though I switched to neutral - the ride still had a bumpy shaky sensation.
Its the first time I experienced this. Not sure whether its a problem with the petrol or mechanical.

it could be a loose rear axel nut if you have had them of recently,or bad fuel you can get that shaken feeling from the motor trying to go,have you just run the engine with the carby arm and see if you can pick the area from
good luck
👍👍😂🙅🥷😬🤓
If it there while you are moving with the engine off it could be a lump/bulge/case eparation in a tyre, this is not always obvious at a glance.I could also be a spark plug miss,in this case the engine should shake noticeably when sitting idling.
I ran the Beetle to my friend's place about 10 minutes drive away. It seems to be running ok but it seems there was a slight shuddering when driving. My mechanic did mention the King Pin needed some attention. I'll give it a good drive next week and say more.

The bumpy feel seems to be happening mainly when I'm in low speeds under 10mph. It doesn't seem evident when I'm going at high speed. Could it be a suspension problem?
