1200cc oil pump cover

thanks guys for the answers to my last question.Now my next question is that i have an oil leek from the cover over my oil pump which is not stock vw as it has pipes that go to a remote oil filter.I pulled the cover of and found no gasket?so i made one and was about to fit it when it came to me that maybe there is not suppose to be one as now the gears will have room to move out of the pump.Does anyone know if this is so.Maybe i should just bye a new VW cover and gasket and fit it.thanks kym

mate all i use is a very very small amount of gasket goo and i mean a small amount you don't want any getting in the pump good luck
