I pulled the brakes off my buggy tonight, they are beetle front brakes.....
now, there are 2 springs, a large (strong) spring, and a thinner (weak) spring....my quesion is, which goes where? does the large one go near the cylinder, or the adjusters? only reason I ask is, one side was one way, the other was the other!

thanks

the heavier or stronger springs always go on the side of the wheel cyclinder in order to make it return easier

make sure yr adjusters are turn out the same amount when adjusting the brake shoes
I read it on FACEBOOK so it must be true

Hi

Now what I would do if I were You....

replace the pin, spring and washer clip in the centre of the brake shoes..
these do wear out and fall to bits...

they aren't expensive...

also pull the adjusters out and grease them with a small amount of moly grease
as they can seize up too..

cheers
