Are there any wiring mod's that have to be done to a new KPH speedo (Plastic type) that has the 2 wires conected to a male plug coming out from the top back part of the speedo, to fit my old 68 Beetle, thanks to all

Not sure what type of speedos you are talking about...
You can fit an original VW KMH speedo..
as Beetles in most of Europe had KMH speedos.. I have a KMH speedo in My 68 Beetle...
Mine is from a 5/71 German beetle...
they are almost identical to the MPH speedos...
most have telltale lamps for foglamps and heated rear window but they are the same size...
. the 1976 Aussie beetle had a KMH Speedo I think...

Only problem is they are expensive...
You won't get one for under $120AUS... mostly $150++

Keep an eye on E-bay too. they are always popping up on there...

cheers

that has the 2 wires conected to a male plug coming out from the top back part
that sounds like something to do with the Fuel gauge unit
I read it on FACEBOOK so it must be true

Yes
they do have two connections in a black plastic piece which is where the fuel gauge fits....

Two wires / red and blue / on the back of fuel gauge are for the red led indicating brake failure..
