Hi all
got some questions about a mates car. Not a vw but please dont hold that against him. ha ha Um its a early toyota celica it has two side draft solex carbs on it. They look very much like a webber. Do the jets from a webber fit??? anybody know a web site with jet sizes etc just as a refrence point. Cheers

i am guessign its an early celica running the side drafts so certain jets will fit but not all, tell him to junk the twin sides as they are crap! i had a celica motor in my hilux with twin side drafts and it went well if a tad juciy but i had problems and i had a holly sitting there so i fitted this on new manifolds and it went 3 times better and was much kinder on fuel( if u managed to keep the pedal off the floor😂)

side drafts can work well but they are prissy bastards and have to be in tip tip condition and mantained constantly much better off with something else if he/she can do that..

steff.....................

cheers for the info guys, have found a few web sites with info and have passed the details on. Steff I have heard that same comment about these side drafts not being the best set up, but my mate perchased the engine with the twin carbs and a later model twin cam head on the early model 1.6 L block. He is pretty keen to retain the carbs but I'll let him know what probs it might lead too. Cheers Andrew
