Just wondering what is the easiest way to install a front gearbox mount into a 64 beetle. The old urethane one split. do I need to take box out or can I undo the 2 big nut on the fork and slide box and motor back enough to get mount in

maybe just as easy to fit one of those Berg front mounts should be cheaper and easier then taking the motor out

car forums. where a lot of peoples good intentions end up taking a good old car off the road forever never ever to see the road again. 🥲

Hi

I've done it on IRS bug OK with the motor and box in, just needed to take the rear tray off the motor. There maybe some resistance from the axles in the spring plates on a swinger.

As Ian said maybe go for a Berg style front mount instead.

Ditto what steve said

Have done it on a 75L IRS but was a waste of time
Mount was useless - tore again within months

Went Berg style and never looked back
