36 hp inlet manifold woes

Finally scored a good cond inlet manifold for my 56 oval window resto, I was cleaning the carbon/ shit out of the heater tube with an old piece of steel stranded cable on the end of a drill and it pierced the wall where it is mated against the manifold tube. Does anyone know if you can separate the two tubes by cutting thru that cast piece in the centre and the tack welds,repair the tube, and weld back up to look like an original manifold.I would prefer the riser tube to be operational and look original. Any suggestions appreciated

its best not to seperate the 2 tubes the hole can be brased up

do u have the pre heat tube cleaned out

I use a long shank drill and enter near the bends to drill out the carbon
I read it on FACEBOOK so it must be true

Yes the pre heat tubes are clear, but I cant braze up because the hole is right behind the manifold tube, where the two pipes are mated against each other. I could tell because I used diesel fuel to help clean out pipe and I could see where it is leaking.

yeah thats why u have to braze or silver solder to cover the hole between the 2 pipes

plenty of heat and a good flow of silver or brass will do the trick
