Howdy All,

Having come to the conclusion that supercharging will take too much money and experimentation plus knowledge I don't have, I'm thinking of one day going down the trubo route. Before I do that, I want to understand it all much better.

In a recent UltraVW they recommended the book 'Turbomania' by Bob Tomlinson. I'm interested in peoples opinions of this book and also, if anyone knows where I can buy it either over the net, or any of the VW shops in Sydney (and no I haven't called Vintage yet).

Thanks for your help 🙂

i'd say there on a par both cost wise and work involved but that depends on your setup

i think i actually got out of my blower setup cheaper than my turbo
my turbo was free but i did get the blower pretty cheap too though

the area turbos getting exy is if you go draw through you need to get the turbo carbon sealed, which isnt a cheap practise but if you go blow through it gets complicated cos u need higher volume fuel pump, boost sens press reg, tank return line, sealed up carb, BOV etc

so yeah bobs book is a good start

Thanks guys, I think I've tracked down a copy. Hopefully I'll learn a lot more. I guess the reason I'm thinking turbo is that it seems a lot more common, and therefore the knowledge base should be better, whereas it seems to me that if you supercharge you are still being a trailblazer, which can be a very expensive pursuit, unless you can do it all yourself.

Cheers
