I was going through some stuff i got with one of my beetles and found a Sidchrome spanner with a VW logo on it. Were these common? and what tools were in the "VW" range?
Cheers
Mike
I believe sidchrome only made one type of spanner specially for VW's (10mm x 13mm). Hazet,Matra or Preisler were VW tool manufacturers.
sorry 8 x 13mm 🥲
Customer service is not dead in Australia.
Always after HAZET & MATRA & VW factory tools
That's interesting because the one I have is 8mm x 13mm
Same as the one that I've got - Sidchrome, VW logo, 8 X 13.
I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!
Me too, 8 x 13 open ended

I got a couple, one came in a small roll-up tool kit with spark plug tool etc.
Can anyone throw any light on these spanners?
From memory (which is a little shakey at times but mostly after barls' home brews)they were part of the local content in the mid 60's,late 1200-1300 beetles.there was also a couple of decent screwdrivers in place of the two in one unit.
my grandfather gave 2 of theese spanners mine are different sizes though. also the were run seperate from the hazet tool kits
