As the title says, I'm looking at purchasing some twin IDF's for my 1835cc and was wondering what size people would recommend - the 40 or 44?
It's a pretty basic engine and I'm running kadrons at the moment but they're shite.
All it has is a 110 cam (not too sure if it makes any difference?)

Help would be much appreciated!

Cheers

Get the 40s if it only has a W110 👍

I ran 40IDF's on my old 1835 with a 37/68 cam, which apparently isn't much more aggressive than an Engle 110... worked a treat.

You could make either work of course depending on vents and jetting.

I've got the Weber Tech Manual at home... will look it up tonight and see what it says.

Champion, yeah I was leaning toward the forty. Is there any difference in petrol consumption?

Hmm, yeah - again all going to depend on vents and jetting.

Way I see it though, if they're set up properly then there'd be naff all difference other than at wide open throttle.... drivability would be better with the 40's, but top end could be better with the 44's.

Yep, 40's unless you have plans for bigger later, then you could go the 44's but need to put in smaller vents. No diff with economy if set up right.

Get a set of 44's, that way when you realize you need more power you'll have the carbs to match.

BTY I've run 44 IDF's on an 1835 with a C35 (similar to 110) and mild heads and it ran fine.
