I have searched the www and there is no clear answer I can find. It seems a lot of the answers include aircraft converted VW engines and they don't help with stock weight.

1) What is the weight of a Type 1 engine 1200,1300,1500,1600 as removed from vehicle with all accessories still attached. Carbs, flywheel, alternator, heat exchangers etc?

2) What is the weight of a Type 4 engine 1700,1800,2 litre as removed from vehicle with all accessories still attached. Carbs, flywheel, alternator, heat exchangers etc?

I would say 75-80kg for type 1 and probably 100kg for type 4

I've always been brought up on 180lb as the weight of a 40hp engine complete... so yeah, pretty damn close to the 80kg mark.

Type 4 no idea... keep hearing they're heavier, but never tried to lift one myself to know.
