They played the way they should have been allowed to play at the start. Great effort, at least they can come home with some pride.......Glad we're not Frenchveedubbers😁 Now we have England through and the USA and I believe the Kiwis as well, if we could get rid of the Argentinians it would be a perfect World Cup. It was my 24th wedding anniversary on Monday, 24 years ago on Tuesday half way to my honeymoon on a cross channel ferry watched that drug taking cheat Maradonna put England out with his handball and have never forgotten!!!! What grudge!😬

Such a bitter sweet victory for the Roos.....

and those refs issuing out the red cards in the first 2 games.
I'm sure the result would have been much different if we had 11 players on the field.
The coach still was responsible to some degree......bring on 2014

Can't be bothered watching soccer anymore. The rules need to be changed to allow higher scores, i.e. MORE GOALS!

All it needs is a simple rule change. My idea would be to NOT allow the goalie to touch the ball with his hands during play, just like the other players. This would, I'm sure, allow much higher scores and reduce the tension in the game - and in the spectator area. Look at AFL and how frequently they score. If soccer had big numbers in the scores, it would reduce the importance of just one goal! ........My 2c worth😁

It is interesting that hockey did away with the offside rule

Scores in footsal or 6 a side summer stuff on small fileds with no offside is always higher

Its played WAY too fast for me though 😂

If they did away with the offside rule all you'd have is opposing forwards goalhanging ,waiting for a ball to be kicked up the field! This World Cup has proved that with the Refs not favouring big name teams i.e. Italy,like they did last time and just being fair (or as fair as they see it), you do get the better playing teams like the US getting through and teams like France and Italy having to rely on playing well or else getting kicked out. In my opinion this is a great World Cup even though Englands manager seems to be trying to bugger them up, I mean what's the idea of keeping Crouch out of the games when you need him forward to get the balls into the net. I know Defoe scored their last goal but he's about 5ft tall! He's never going to get the high balls is he, and where was Lennon the last game? He is one of the most skillful and fast players in the Premier League AND he took off Rooney! The highest scoring player (other than Drogba) in the EPL! How does he expect to get goals? I reckon the national coach should be a national. Harry Redknapp for England and maybe Craig Foster for Australia, don't know how he'd go but can't be worse than Pim Verbeek!

After putting the above and watching the England v Germany match I confirm what I was saying. Capello should be linched. He brought on Heskey WITHOUT his wheelchair. Crouch and Lennon still sitting on the bench and then you hear that Capello wants reassurances from the FA that he'll keep his job....does this bloke live on a different planet, did he even watch the game, has he taken his tablets today???? BTW I'm angry so nobody come up to Noosa in the next day or so and hope for a nice welcome to a certain resort 'cos you wont get it😬

Anybody else notice that the big expectations never really performed. i.e. Rooney, Kewell, Ronaldo even Messi (so far).Curious.
