Hi Guys

That spring on the accelerator pedal, I presume the long part clips behind the tang on the pedal, what does the short end do, It seems to float around and do nothing.

This pic, should all beetles have this spring installed over the tube near the carb.

The pedal spring I'm not sure... got an idea it may clip into a tang on the floor part of the hinge.

The spring at the end of the cable tho all Beetle's would've had originally, but it generally doesn't work all that great with twin carbs and most people just ditch them (tho you end up having to do something else to secure the tube... using a hose clamp or similar)

The pedal one has the small tang to the floor/hinge, it puts tension towards the front of the car so the pedal doesn't come back towards the driver, and also stops the hinge pin from coming out.

That acc return spring is '67 and earlier, later cars had the spring on the carb.

the spring on the pedal itself actually works the opposite way, it keeps the pedal upright and pressed against the roller part

most bugs are missing them by now
