68 Beetle Steering Wheel Size ??

I am having trouble getting a safety cert. for my 68 Beetle. I have an after market wood steering wheel 14". The guy wont allow it to pass as he says it is not the original. And he wont allow wood. But after I research I can only find that, it stats that the wheel must not be less than 25mm of original and no less than 350mm ( 14 " ). Does anyone know what original size was ?

He doesn't allow wooden steering wheels...??

sounds like a dipstick...

the beetle steering wheel is 15 inches so 14 inches is OK..

there are heaps of beetles about with NON VW steering wheels... and most are 14 inches..

probably the easiest thing is to put a beetle one on to humour the guy... lol
