If i got an accelerator cable and am extending, and my father was suggesting soldering the cables together, which was apparently the old skool technique back in 'his day'.

Would this still suffice? any make sures or be carefuls and stuff?

he did it to mum's boot cable aout 18 months ago, haven't had any other issues since...

Thanks guys,
Chris.

yep, can be done: clean both ends until their shining, must be making perfect contact overlapping each other for 20mm at least. You need to use a solder flux or tinned spirits on the joint then solder full length of the overlap with good heat. Brazing would be better with a higher silver content rod. Both are strong enough for accelerator cable.
