A question for those with registration knowledge
Hopefully i can get an answer before i spend 2 days sitting on the RTA phone

I am looking at buying a dub in Qld that i know was originally LHD
All a bit vague as i have only sent one email at the moment and had a brief reply
It is currently registered in Qld.
I dont know for how long it has been registered
Apparently it was previously registered in NSW
Also - I am not sure when it was imported or if it has importation papers??
I can only assume yes as it has twice been registered???

I can only assume you need an engineer's report as it has been converted to RHD

My questions are
- do I need a new Engineers report to register it in NSW??
- can i track its NSW registration history somehow if I dont know what the old NSW rego plate number was??

If a car is to be registered in NSW from outer state it is easy(er) if you can turn up with two years previously consecutive years registration

When I bought my beetle to NSW from Canberra I had a hassle as i couldnt prove the 2 years rego and i didnt have the compliance plate
Then you get a VIUU (or VUII??) inspection to prove what the vehicle is

I understand it is basically cancel existing rego, bluey, green and register
Really dont want to part with money and then find it all to hard to register

Also - what does it mean in Qld that it comes with road worthy
In NSW i am "suppose" to change over in one or 2 months from purchase.
But all i do is inform the RTA.
I dont have to take the car their or anything??
If it comes with roadworthy am I ok to drive it for that time??

Thanks

im fairly sure you will need a new report barry as the rat doesn’t store a copy of the report and without the rego number and even then if its been more than 10 years? it may not even be on the system.
if you want an answer give the old man a call, since he does these for a living.
