yes you can still get nos or good 2nd hand beading. samba has some I recall. Also ISP west sell kits made from various other vw models with require some modification to the beads but instruction are provided.
Pretty sure isp also sell 2nd ones in good nik.

I would reuse yours if they are still good.

Dont reuse the old stuff, nothing spoils a new paint job like cruddy old beading, and also dont paint over, that looks just as bad.

VW parts suppliers can sell kits or you can go to places like clark rubber buy how ever many meters and use your old ones as templates

I got mine from vintage, a bit of a pain to fit but it looks good.

depends on the condition.mine for example are perfect condition, supple and very malleable. Looks about the same as nos ones. One of my other type 3s I had few years ago also had perfect ones. Guess it depends on how long the car has been out in the sun.

As advised, don't paint over it on the car but if you can get NOS in any colour, acrylic doesn't stick too bad. I did this some 9 years back. A good clean with thinners, spray the colour of car and put in place within a day or so. Everything is still flexible so no cracking of paint.

The Clarke Rubber isn't a good cross section for Type 3s (T-section needed) and in many cases the leg which fits between the panels isn't long enough as well as having no grippers on it. It tends to work out of the joint and looks crapp.
