Hi Guys,
I need to balance some 5 stud wheels for the formula vee.
I live in Sydney's Eastern suburbs. Does anyone know of a place nearby that could balance these old style wheels/tyres?
Has anyone made an adaptor(orknow where to buy one) to fit to the modern balancing machines?
Thanks in advance
Daniel

May be a bit crude for you, but I used to do mine on the front drums of the Vee. I used ball bearings in the front hubs, with light oil. With the brakes backed off, the wheels would spin for ages, but always stop with the heavy part at the bottom. After a while you get good at it, and can guess what weight to use (at the top). For best results, the drums should be balanced separately first.

Cheers, Greg

Hi

Club Vee Dub has an adaptor in their tool library that members can borrow.

Another way is to use an old front drum, mount that on the wheel balancing machine and bolt the wheel to the drum.
