Hi All,
Wondering if someone might have a template to show me the exact position to drill the holes to mount my hearts on my 54. I stupidly didn't take a rubbing before I sold my guards.

Any help would be great. Please note these do not sit in the same location to 55-56-57-58 oval lights. They sit lower and the lights are smaller.

Thanks for your help,
Heath

You see many early oval beetles with tail lights all over the place..

some UP very high...

This is only OK if the car is used on the roads often...
especially in traffic...

they were Very low.... not good for brake lights... ..?

Thanks 57,
That is correct but I don't have any bumper mount holes to reference it off.
Could anyone do me a template or rubbing referencing the bottom of the guard and the kink about 300mm up from the bottom?
Thanks

Hi Rose,
would love to come and make a template but it is a but of a drive from adelaide.
Can you confirm if your holes are the same as this link. If so, I can do it off your guide.
Thanks heaps for this.

I made a template for my 50/50 taillights using a cereal box. Use the V point were the apron meets the guard as your common reference point. Fold flaps both sides of reference point then hold cardboard over location and punch holes through with a phillips screwdriver. This template will do both sides by flipping over. If I had an early guard I would make one for your. Good Luck
