Hey guys
Looking at handling mods for my 69 1500
The car is largely stock with the exception of 4.5 inch steel wheels on the back, short shifter, exists ect also have kyb gas shocks may back
Does this upgrade look right to you guys? Is there a cheaper supplier in aus?

Why not just 'tighten up' the existing 'Z' bar on the rear, for a start? With a decent set of tyres your car will handle pretty well, for normal road use.

If you want to do some competition driving later, there is plenty you can do......but it will cost you. Nice car, by the way - one of the best Beetles made, IMHO.
I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

It's definitely a swing axle? Just check it's not a converted autostick model

You'll see it's got rubber bushings (see below #11) the space below this needs to be shimmed up so that there is a constant pre-load on the bar. In stock form as below the bar isn't activated until the car actually starts leaning into a bend

Above is a link to thread on the shoptalk forums about the z-bar as well, also below is a custom Z-bar from a bloke in the UK; it is adjustable.
