Lowering Beetle
trimar666 - July 27th, 2006 at 10:30 AM

Hi Guys,

Can anyone tell me roughly what the process is for lowering a 74 Super and approx costs. Want it do well without spending a fortune. Only thinking of dropping a couple of inches, not scraping along the ground.

Also any recommendations on who to take it too in Melbourne.

Thanks

Marty

ok a super needs you to redo the front struts the best way is to replace them with adjustable struts, ether maxx or the ones from richard at v force. these cost about $1000 a set and they will allow you to adjust your height as needed. other than that hows your machining and welding skills as you can move the spring cup down and that can give you a couple of inches but not to be done if you dont have the skills

a couple good discussions and pics.

Need to decide what 74 you have.
"Should" be 2 bolt but could be an early 3 bolter

Give Vintage a call in Sydney 02-9789-1777 they can send you down some adjustable Strut assemblies that you can fit yourself

you have the check the type of attach point on the lower end as there are 2 different types of mountings
