Flashing semaphores
I am wanting to know if you can get semaphores on a 57 Oval to flash like an indicator ? Can this be done ? Cheers Dean....
if it looks like crap smells like crap then guess what!!!!!

Sure why not you just need two sources of power one to make it pop out and stay up and then run a wire from your indicators to flash the bulb. The
only thing is that you need to sync and insulate the two sources you could use a DpDT switch
I would probably just run a wire from the indicators to a new led so you have it in a small tight insulated package that fits inside the existing
mech. You would then need to up grade your flasher to a led one these are cheap from auto shops.
Double pole double throw switch.
Can't see it being that hard

Did it about 30 years ago on a Morris Minor, think I ended up using two relays and two flasher units to get it all working. Can't give more detail,
it was just too long ago.

Yep, you can do it with the og wiring and 1 flasher can, just need to mod the semaphore internally and wiring. Too hard for me to write it all down
here. The second option is I believe you can get a flashing LED that fits where the std festoon bulb fits. Fit one of them amd job done.

I'm working on a little unit that just requires a signal from the flasher unit and it'll hold the semaphore on until 0.5 secs after the last flash
of the indicator.
To make the bulb flash you just need to take the blue wire from the screw connection and cut the black wire soldered to the other terminal and connect
these together, Then the other end of the blue wire, that normally goes to the indictor bulb, now goes to the relevent side of the indicator stalk.
I've got 1200 rear lights and wing top fronts on my 59 but RWC guys want the semaphores working AND flashing.

There are two wire connectors screws in the semaphores. One is for the blue wire and another for the two collor wire, on both sides..
You need to do some work in the semaphores in order to have them flashing. The connector screw to pop-up the wire (not for the blue wire one) goes out
to 2 different internal wires in the semaphore. One is to the semaphore light bulb and another is to the coil. So, you need to separete them, and the
screw for the blue wire, you will no longer use. The wire that goes to the light, that you just separete from the wire coil, than you need to tie to
the blue wire on it, on both sides. and in the back of the speedometer, you need to release the blue wires from turn signal light in the speedometer
and tie each side to the respective green and yellow out put from the converter along with the rest of the front and rear turn lights. There is only
in inconvinient, I still didnt figured out how to set up the speedometer turn light back to work. But I will, and I will post soon.
