I'm running a 1600tp squarback engine in my baja as a type 1.

Where the oil filler is for the type 3, you can buy a $20 dip stick for converting the type 3 filler into a type 1 style dip stick.

The rest bolts on. For my dog house oil cooler adapter, i had to drill 1 hole wider (the one that dangles over the cylinder 3 barrel) for the stud to pass through then whacked on the nut.

The rest of the gear just bolts on. There is no boss in the type 3 case for a oil pressure sender in the type 1 position, thus use the type 3 oil cooler that fits into the type 1 dog house coil adapter to know where the oil is at.

The tranny will also fit although the shift rod coupling grub screww comes from underneath on the type 3 so best to swap out the hockey stick to a type 1.
