spare tyre...where?
So I've been thinking about my '70 beetle and its all stock set -up besides drop spindles on the front. I want to get 145's on the front and lower
the back a notch to get it sitting lower.
What spare tyre should I carry when front and back are different? both? front or back?
thanks Josh

I would say carry a stock spare, that way it will be half way in between! I run 195/70R14s and carry a stock 15" spare wheel with an old 165/80R15 on
it. As mentioned, wide tyres don't fit in the spare wheel well.

would but I wouldnt be driving like that for long ....I hope

Keep in mind if you drop it down to much on the front the front tyre size mighn't fit under the guards or work

Why have a spare that matches no other tyre on the car, if it matches the smaller front, it'll fit in the spare well and you have a 50% chance of it
matching.

The width of your spare is pretty much irrelevant... It's the diameter that will impact how the car handles more.
I would carry a front spare if it was me (although I have an S bug so don't have this issue )
