bolts removing engine

Hi- i've got a 66 beetle with a 1200 motor and want to remove it and do some big rust repairs then put a tp 1600 motor in. are there 4 bolts around the bellhousing and then the heat exchanger bolts? Its pretty grotty under there and can't seem to find the bottom bolts? Will the 1600 tp motor fit?

Scrape some of the 40 years of accumulated glug off near the bottom of the bell housing and you will see the 2 17mm nuts, the 1600 twin port will fit but you will have to clearance the bell housing to fit the flywheel in.

Yeah 4 bolts

Bottom 2 nuts up above the rubber engine mounts

Top one behind clutch lever and other side accessed from engine bay down behind fan

Heat exchangers should be able to just slide the plastic tubes that connect them to the body out of the way. Loosen and slide the control cables out

Disconnect coil, choke, fuel solenoid and large battery wires from regulator

Disconnect fuel line and accelerator cable

Remove rear engine tin breast plate

.....flywheel on 1600 may be bigger, but easily overcome
