4,6,Rotary nationals 2013 Adelaide

Hi All,
Anyone go to the Nats on the weekend in Adelaide?
I was leading a scout camp and couldn't make it.

Rod brought his car over and ran something really fast. 8.???

Dave O'Connor broke out with a 11.38 on a 11.40 dial in.
Almost in the top 6.

Gringo's car was here and the primer oval with the insignia on the side... old VMA car?

Anyone have better details than this?

Rod ran an 8.1 @ 158mph (new record), but was beaten in the finals by some poor sportsmanship as Rod had won all his rounds but had a pushrod seal let go in the race to the finals. The guy he had to race had not won all his races but by attrition got in to the final. With Rods car leaking oil he ran it through the lights thinking that would give him the win but they decided to award it to the other bloke.
Andrew Ermel ran three consecutive passes at 11.94 but broke out with a 11.84 @ 111.67 mph in the finals. Steve got eliminated in the 2nd round but ran a 12 3 so a pretty good weekend for the VWs.
The grey oval has always been a Gringo car. Michael

Congratulations to Rod, they probably didn't want someone from out of state to be the winner :lol:

Sounds like it was a great day, any photos to be seen?

Actually that was the final round of the chicago shootout where rods car leaked the pushrod seal, I'm pretty sure we won that round but oiled the track a little bit. We made it to the finals against the same guy but got shut down due to a fuel leak which turned out to be something very minor. Otherwise a great weekend for rod, 8.1 at 158mph with some good 60ft times as well.

New PB I think Sauron meant, Micks Motorsports is still a little quicker...... Fastest vw still I guess?

The pushrod tube seals have always been a minor issue on the pauter, will have to look into a fix before it goes back out. The engines been dead reliable otherwise, never had any mechanical problems.
