50th Modification Celebration Query!
Okie dokie guys, Marion (My 64 bug) is 50 this year and I think she deserves to be a little spoiled.
At this stage I'm wanting to do a 4WD brake conversion, and that brings me to my query. What conversion to run with?
My perameters are as follows:
- Must retain 5/205 studs, and fit inside a 15" smoothie.
- I would Ideally like to retain my 2.5" drop spindles (Vollks spindles I believe are, this isnt be all end all though).
- Would like to keep it around $1000-2000 (I know vollks do two empi kits that total just under $1000, would love to hear thoughts on these).
Gearbox is a later model swinger. Happy to ship from over seas, or buy local. Bang for buck is what will drive my purchase.
The other option aswell is to put a kit together myself and fab caliper brackets.
Cant wait to hear your suggestions and thoughts!
Thank you for your time!

The front kit they provide wont work with 2.5" drop spindles, and they dont do a wide 5 rear, only blanks, and for something thats going to be a
daily, I'd rather have the bolt pattern drilled from factory, and not myself.

Vintage do a wide five one.
As for volks conversion I'm still out of pocket as one of the drums he supplied failed in under 12 months on a low mileage car..

I'm pretty sure that they are the same as the empi kits. Heavy hubs and ghia calipers. Hoping for something more racey but still suitable for street
aspects.
