Goodbye from me and my Schizophrenic Friend
To one and all on AussieVeedubbers, a sincere Goodbye from me and from my friend inside me.
Firstly, I apologise for inflaming anyone's public thoughts and feelings. As the post went on, it was not going to end amicably.
It's been fun and interesting here on Aussie Veedubbers but "www.electronic media" has finally got to me. When I started in VW's, our small
community was supportive and "hands-on helpful" to everyone with the marque. For those that know me, trying to help is something I have attempted to
do with everyone I come into contact with
Nowadays though, it's acceptable to be much more open in your opinions (which, I believe is called Democracy and is our right) but doesn't sit well
with me or my inner friends head.
Because I believe I/we possibly started this latest raft of passion, I will do what we think is right by actions rather than words.
I will passionately continue to do what I love (Drag Race) at a private level.

There are those that can/do, and those that can't/don't.
Unfortunately, a small number of those who can't/don't seem to get their jollies from 'bagging' those that can/do. Please don't ask me why.
During my 50 or so years of racing VWs, I have copped a bit of the 'negative' shit, but the 'positive' side far outweighs it.
Henry [and your mate], please don't deny your exremely valuable help to those who need it - including me ! If you do, negativity is the winner.

It's a shame to see a really good and ever helpful man run off the forum because of a joker who has no real clue. To be honest I think I'm just
about done with the bullshit myself. Ive been on this forum for about 8 years now I guess under a couple of different names and I've seen it go from
a really helpful fun place full of advice and knowledge to a place where nothing ever happens or people just sledge each other... Just like Henry a
lot of the genuinely helpful people don't even bother getting on here anymore.

Henry,
I have never met you but I totally understand that you get sick of it.
Unfortunately these public forums are a great place for like minded folk to come together. I am not into the drag racing side of things so have never
personally received advice from you.
But I have certainly received advice from some of the users who have posted above me and as such I do very much appreciate members such as
yourself.
The gist of it is - it would be a shame to lose another valuable and knowledgeable member from here.
In life there will always be dick-heads and I totally respect your decision to remove them from your circle.
I just hope they pull their heads in before we lose too many of the pedigree VW owners.

It seems that the hateful and personal attacks and derogatory posts toward me, were the catalyst for his decision to farewell the forum
so to those of you who feel I am responsible and have posted as much, look in the mirror for your culprit…

The general public are dickheads! we need to look after the people who matter in our lives! Henry is a much loved and respected member of the VW
community! All of us can remember henrys contributions to drag racing. Having never met the man, he has always shared his knowledge and his experience

It's a shame Henry has decided to leave the forum, he is a wealth of information and a lasting much respected pillar of our "community" and will be
missed on this Forum.
I use "Community" loosely as after talking to Henry trackside on Sat before this whole racket even began we were discussing the lack of camaraderie
in the VW community.
I also think a lot of you are missing the point, Silver has apologised and admitted his comment was tongue in cheek, non derogatory and timed
inappropriately, we all know including Henry that he is a smart arse but he is not the only one.
Henry may have been more surprised and offended by the personal profanity attacks towards Silver than his actual comment and I don't see anyone
apologising for their impulsive actions.

I'll say it...Henry join Facebook...I was dead set against FB due to all the well documented cases of bullying etc etc. However once someone
explained to me about who you chose to be friends with and who can view your posts I thought I'd give it a shot...let me say there is a thriving
community of like minded VW racers who enjoy each others exploits and would certainly benefit from your input. Find a 13 year old to show you how it
works like I did.

What the heck, I leave for a few days and things start to fall apart. The reason I have always loved this website is the closeness of the group ,
couldn't ask for a better group of like minded people and the willingness of everyone to help each other is an inspiration for me. Rather than lose a
VERY knowlegable member or chase off a newby can't a site moderator talk to the interested parties and resolve this without losing anyone ? Our world
of VW is so small we cannot afford to lose anyone . I really hope you reconsider leaving the group . Mike McCarthy
