Beading Tool

This is some thing I have been working on for a while. I find with conversions you need to be able to get a bead on the end of pipe work to help keep hoses on.

Made this from a standard scissor jack(VS Commodore) which had been damaged. The shafts are from alternators, as are the bearings and the spacers between them. The forming roller is just another spacer which was let spin on the shaft as I ground it to profile(watch you fingers it get hot while you profile it). The ring which holds the former on is from a beetle generator, it has an interference fit on the shaft.

This is Mark 2, is has internal bracing to stop the forming roller from trying to pivot away from the work piece. The small tubing is 32mm stainless tube 1.6mm wall thickness, I previously had to anneal the tubing and it was still a difficult job. Now it breezes through it.

That is so awesome. Been looking for a tool to do exactly that. Seen another person make one for 5/16 and 3/8 tube which uses a ball bearing from the inside of tube to make the beading.

Fixed up my original prototype today with the internal brace, so decided to put some addition photo up that are a bit clearer.
