Installing tinware

So I'm gonna sound like an idiot but while making my 2ltr engine look good before I install it I took all the tinware off and replaced the pieces that were stuffed and painted it all up to look good. To two big pieces that go over the main section of the engine aren't going in properly, it needs to go an inch further forward so it can sit right down. Just making sure there's no trickles to it before I hack at it with an angle grinder. Is it possible I've got pieces for the wrong engine? is there any differences in tinware?
Cheers

Okay well I worked our the issue there's two big heads sticking out next to where the carbi manifolds come out, a very slight modification and problem solved.
