Subi links

Hi guy's, altho I have done Subi timing belts in the past, my step father, a retired country mechanic, is wanting to do the belts in his '02 Forester with a EJ25 in the front.
Has anyone got a link to a good Subi step by step guide so I can direct him to give him the necessary points to align the cam timing.

Thanks for any input

Matt

This is a good link to a good range of the factory service manuals. I have found them to be excellent.

Just tell him to be carefull with the marks he lines up as if the crank pulley is anything like the ej22 , it has some other deseptive marks that can be mistaken for the timming marks

Yes Andrew, I seem to remember something similar from the ones I've done years ago. Thanks

Hi Matt, when I did mine the first time I googled it on you tube and there are lots of really good step by step videos on there.

wrt the crank pulley it is tricky. The mark you are looking for is actually not on the pulley but on the sensor pickup ring which is attached to the back of the pulley.

very easy on mine as it is in the back of the bug and I can strip everything away but doing in a subi is a bit more complex as you have the radiator etc in the way.

good luck.
