Would thinner wheels and/or tyres fix the problem?

I don't think so, unless I went 135 or maybe 145 with a really low profile.
But concern is two fold, the reduced diameter also lowers car more and it already removes reflectors from the road.
Second is with disc brakes a skinny front tyre will lock too easily in the wet.

I'd feel much safer with 165 tyres on wide 5 15" rim with a lower profile as a minimum.
Could run the 14's as pictured, but with the offset car still needs to come up to stop it rubbing.

Photos to come, but have procured a replacement beam that is alleged to bring my wheel track back to standard dimensions, spent the last few evenings swearing the beam and its bushes into submission and tonight it finally yielded and I could get the torsion arm offset to spec.

Man I have learnt some hard lessons doing this bug, but it's been fun too.

Hopefully photos tomorrow of car back on all 4's. Or at least with beam in place.
