Well here is my new project.its a 59.
someone has baja it so that will all have to go haha..
plans are replace front and rear apron areas as they have been cut out.
fit a golde roof section I have to it. get some parts its missing get the 36hp running and slamm it.

Very cool. I like the 58-59 with semaphores and small tail lights. They are cool. Cant wait to see some progress photos

Yeh they have to go.all the baja stuff is off now.early bonnet is on just need some early gaurds and a few other bits and pieces to get it to look
like a beetle again.need some stock 15 inch bug rims and some tyres to roll it on..

Yeh the person I got the car off dropped the rear heaps..the front wont get done till im finished everything else..
il probably raise the rear just to work on the car then air bag it hopefully...

I got the 36hp motor going today after sorting out the fuel tap leaking..next is the brakes..

Bit of a up date.golde roof cut nearly done for it to fit in.a pillar repaires under way.brakes all done
also got a air bag beam from jer fab soon to on its way.
6inch air beam with bag.and also his rear kit to come aswell..

and yeh it runs one bag off to the passenger side.and a different way the tie rods run from the steering box to the spindles..will post up as I
go..

Bit more work done on the bug.repairing the deck lid and added some vents for the vert look.and my 6inch air bag beam is done should be shipped out to

Also I got some panel beating hammers and dollys.i got the rear end clip welded in I just have to dit the early rear apron.and I got a nos l/h 1/4
panel to replace my crappy one.getting their slowly..

Nice project, looks good.
Have you spoken to an engineer about getting the suspension complianced?
I would be really surprised if the Jer-Fab air beam could be made legal in Australia. It looks like it is made from steel plate welded to an original
trailing arm, which is generally a big no-no for engineering compliance.

just finished putting in a front quarter for my oval.
that quarter panel doesn't look like a pre 60 one. will it pose a problem for the fuel tank?

I got the 1/4 panel off the very nice man that posted under you.
luftmeister..he saved my ass with that panel.
and il make it work and look as it should when I fit it...
can use the fuel tank surround off my early one if need be..
