Late Type 3 missing indicator globe...

Hi All,

Just wondering what the deal is with this missing globe in my late type 3 indicator. It seems like it has a space for the globe but no provisions around the back, also there doesn't seem to be any wiring for it. Does anyone else have this light??

Thanks

Not missing!

Mate, all Aussie late Type 3's are like this, I think this might have been a light on the US version and maybe Europe??? Would have to check a US/EU wiring diagram. Early versions of the late model also had no reverse lights, no bulb holder but had the white lense on the taillight.

Yeah I checked the wiring diagram and it was on there so it must have been something they dropped over here. Always seemed strange that there was no globe in that side part of the light.
Wow, no reverse lights would be a bit of a pain! Is there a way to mod them back in?

I could if I put later light housings that have the bulb holders in, then wiring and reverse switch on gearbox. I'm just careful when I'm in carparks and make sure nothings coming before I back out.

Yeah I'm not 100% mine has reverse lights... I'm just putting it together again now, since I took it apart in 2007 :D
I might check while everything is apart.

This Samba thread may help give clarity - seems the spare bulb holder was used in US models
