Electronic Speedo?
Hi All,
I would like to run an electronic speedo in the Purvis, but have yet only found one that I like. It looks like a real pain to fit, and how would I go
bypassing all the idiot lights on it i.e. seat-belt warning, abs, door open etc.
I have pictured one below, the black section underneath it is where all the lights are, and to top it all off, I can only seem to find them in
automatic cars, (But have seen them in manual), it is really really hard to get one in manual and the dealership (Mazda) refuses to sell me one as I
don't own a Mazda, so how do I bypass the immobilizer lock-out thing on an auto.
Alternatively, what other speedos look similar, and have been proven to work? (Pictures Please)

Hi
Im using a Spa speedo/tacho http://www.spatechnique.com/store/itemList.cfm?catID=4 I also use a GPS hud from Polaris, you will then need idiot lights,
if your interested I can find the brand I used

Hi,
I would like something more like the pictured one, I just don't really like the multiple dials/gauges.
I have looked at Steve's build, and I do like it, but not the multiple gauge set-up, I really would like something totally different, something
no-one else has.

Ok, thanks all help was, and still is appreciated.
If so, would I be better off trying to find a newer car, and buying the speedo out of it?
How hard would it be to wire in such a speedo?

Boxster gauge pods look pretty cool, not sure how hard they are to wire in, most likely hard as modern cars use Can bus

Fair point Denver, but I have no clue with wires and that is where my main problems are with said speedo, I can find one in manual if I wait a while
and search lots but about 1 in 200 is manual and they don't seem to be getting stripped down on a regular basis.
I think I may just have to go with stock (For a Purvis anyway) VDO gauges.

Hi,
I have a 71 s bug with an electronic speedo it was it the car when I purchased it, and how it is connected is anyone's guess, it's a Drift and they
don't sell them any more and the wiring behind the dash is something that gives me nightmares at night, and I have to pull most of them out again to
check the tacho which is still not fixed and Iv'e had the car for a year.
I do have instructions though which may help you.
I cannot put photo's on here so if you want to, email address or mobile and I can send it to you.
