Meyers Manx Weight - 1300kg

As some would know I am putting a V6 into my Manx Buggy. Now when asked how it would go with weight and power I just smile.

Got my new rego papers and they list my TARE as 1300kg and GVM as 2300kg. That means I can happily fit a 2.5L V6, in fact I can go bigger :D:D:D

so would you consider the buggy to be monoconstructed;
1300x4.82 = 6266cc limit

or seperate chassis;
1300x5.46 = 7098cc limit

Damn, can't fit the 8 liter V10 Dodge Viper motor in it.

If it is monoconstructed, my big-block Chrysler 383 would be about 10cc too big for it. :(

I'd actually consider it to be a seperate chassis though, otherwise how can the body be swapped in the first place? That means it could take up to 433 cubic inches!!! :o

A 429 Cobra Jet springs to mind...... ;):cool:

Guys, as we all know. It's not the size that counts, it's the way that you use it.

mm

I think the V6 will be enough and it is in the shed now so I ain't changing.

As for the typo, it isn't... I won this argumnet with Main Roads many years ago and had a Manx Utility added to the body types on their computer.

The computer would not let them add a utility without a TARE and GVM. The man said that the only TARE and GVM they had was for a kombi and I said that will do just nice :D:D

Now I have a Volkswagen Manx Utility 2 seater Light Van / Commercial.

It is often much much easier to bend the rules than try and change them..

The RTA is full of such silly things. Kind of like needing proof of address to change your driver Lic. So you change your vehicle rego address ( no proof needed ) and then use that to change your driver Lic address. They even let you do it in the one transaction ..... figure that out :D:D
