If like the EA82 then there should be marks on the outer dia of the flywheel. Does it have a removeable rubber plug on the top of the bell housing?

Its a EA71 that has been adapted into a Baja it has no plugs on the Bell housing as its using a VW gearbox and modified Vw flywheel.

Has anyone had an experience in finding timing marks

Heheheh.....is it in the car yet??
If it is, you'll have to take out No.1 spark plug, put a screwdriver into the hole and turn the motor until the screwdriver doesnt come out any further indicating TDC, then you'll need a degree wheel and mark off you timing mark.....not sure what it is (somebody else might know).......
Have fun.....

yeah its in and kinda running, need to hook up radiator and at the moment i'm modifiying the engine cage to fit around the motor. I kinda was thinking of finding TDC and useing the case split as the line (just like a dak dak motor) If i divide the pulley diameter buy 360 it will give me a measurement / degree. I just need to know what to time it at i guess around 7 degrees before TDC should be close.
