Gifted a Bus

While doing a bit of work on the crewcab, this old gent from the local golf club came by and GAVE me this 74 Kombi.. He has been using it until recently.. It belonged to his son who was accidently killed 3 years ago.. He wanted to give it to someone that would look after it..

I was gob smacked and very humbled.. Also a bit worried as I don't have the facilities to take on a full resto (which is what it needs).. I need a worskhop/storage in the Eastern Suburbs to cope with all these projects..

WOW
That dosen't happen very often!
I spose you wil have to try and find somewhere to store it untill you can get sorted and take on the resto.

Top score.... How lucky are you!

I think I need to park my bus a bit more obviously out in the street....
Put our son in his pram and my preganant wife beside it and someone might give us another bus so she'll have room for two baby seats and a double pram!

hey stenguns. sounds like he was a nice bloke.
if you take no offence, i will be the first to ask; that if you dont see a use for it in the near future, i know a young bloke who is just starting out in life. he has just started an apprencticship and although he cant afford one yet is trying hard to locate a kombi that he can get going and cherish. if your heart can see no plans for you and this gift, maybe you might consider a 'gift forward' to a young bloke who i know would appreciate it also.:thumb

figure there is no harm in asking.:) jsut keep it in mind.
thanks

I'd be happy to.. I'll discuss it with my son (he's the bloke in the photo with the crewcab) as he had some plans.. If he/we can't practically take it on, then I'll let you know.. He's home soon and I'll discuss it with him..

sounds like a beaut idea, and considering the circumstances with which the old bus became yours (the old man's sons death), possibly he would be very happy to see it go to another young chap who will cherish it.

This is StenGuns Jnr. Bit of a clash going on here :vader

Just like to say that we would be happy to give you guys the combi-but unfortunately we are going to try a home-restoration.

However, if it proves to much to handle we will be happy to hand it over.

Cheers
