gear box ideas

i am helping a friend finish his bug off and i am looking for someone that can build me a strong box or ideas, suggestions. The car is for drag use only and is running a 13b twin turbo donk(around the 180 bhp mark). The car is a 1302 with standard body just braced. At presant it has a 1500 box and so far its not showing any signs of problems but we have not run the car on the strip yet and no hard launch's just rolling runs while we get it set up right. Any ideas? as the last thing we want is to hit the strip and to blow the box.I know that it is said the box in good condition should handle upto 200 bhp but i have seen them blow and have blowm them myself with less. What do you think? Any help would be great

thanks...

there are other alternatives but I'm not up on the pros and cons on the locally sourced ones.

I got mine rebuilt by Lawrence @ German Autos in Brissy.

He does alot of trannys for off-road buggies and I think most of Stan Pobjoys personal stuff - or that could be John Spinks?

My desire is to go for the Automatic Gearbox.
Lose a little power but intend to build motor to
make heaps of torque so should work out ok.
Does any one know what the Vanagon Automatic is like.?
-is it alloy?
-is it strong?
