Is this a dificult task?
Can anyone give any handy hints on how to make the job easier?

If u mean the wind down windows, you have to first remove the interior door panel, this is firstly held down by the winder and the open latch for the door. If it is an early beetle you have to push against the panel and strike out a pin in the shaft behind the plastic fitting. If it is a later beetle I think you just unscrew it.

After that you carefully pry the edges off ( they are held on by clips). From there it's pretty easy. you ahve to unbiolt parts of the winder mechanism and u eventually pull it out. once it is out you can also get at the 1/4 vent window too.
