Wasserboxer forged pistons?
Where can I buy forgies for my waserboxer project? or will I have to make my own?
I'm trying to avoid doing as much R&D as possible of course, but if no other options become available then I guess I have to....

Why would you want forged pistons for a waterboxer?
The standard pistons are very tough, 1302 Steve uses them in his turboed 2.1 wbx, and I used 1900 wbx pistons in a 2ltr air cooled turboed engine with
no problems.

what revs do you reguarly pull out of it? I intend on using more boost than Steve runs, and would prefer it not to go bang too quickly :P

have you had any problems with the heads lifting under boost yet? I'm dubious about the head stud design...

I think you will find that most pistons are no forged anyway.
Who says that they are cast ???

Forged Pistons will get You into Trouble....
I'm sure the Government looks at Forged pistons the same as forged $100 notes...... I wouldn't go around telling any
one about this..... You NEVER know who's watching-- listening- looking - So I'd stop all this talk of Forgeries .... and stick to Beetles
and Beetle parts.... and stay out of jail..... :bounce

Hi
I have not been able to find anyone that makes forged piston with the depression in the piston like the WBX has for its combustion chamber. The only
way I could see around it would be to use a flat top piston with a very low deck, not ideal. I have looked into the Wiseco catalogue and there is a
3.8 inch = around 96 mm for the 2300 Ford motor (#K120A3 & K120A4), I think these are Pinto motors and are similar to the 2000 Cortina motor.
These pistons have a valve pocket and could maybe be turned in centre to decompress them a bit more? I have not gone any further than just looking at
numbers so you would need to do some investigating to see if they would work, also being only a few mm bigger you might be able to use the stock WBX
cylinders and bore them out.
