Fuel Floater
I have a 1971 kombi bus, greedy51 old one. anyway the floater isnt working, and i need to fix it, i dnt have a clue where to start, can anyone help?

Why do you think the float is causing the problems?
I have just been down that way (into the carbs) and what I thought was float was actually a dud spark plug. I did however have a good time with the
carbies and now they shine.
Unhook the likages
take off air filter
undo bolts holding carb to manifold
remove carb
undo the four (or 5) screws holding the top plate on
remove top plate carefully (spare gasket is good idea)
float should be right there in front of you
remove it and shake it next to your ear
fuel in the float is obviously not good
while you are there you need to inspect the jets, especially the one that contacts the float
It is not hard as long as you note waht you are doing so it can all go back together.
Then again, post more of the symptoms and I am sure someone will give you good advice regarding a diagnosis.

my fuel gauge just doesnt work, and i was told it was the floater, thats all i know

Yea they are the brown things you find in the morning.
Floater, never heard it called that before, but it is what is in your tank. Its on the end of a 10# gauge wire attached to wire winding, as the fuel
goes up or down it measures by way of ohms. anyway, to fix it the easy way is to cut a hole in the deck behind the top engine entry inside .toward the
back of the rear seat
Location is 800mm from door back edge in, and in the centre left to right, 30mm below is the sender unit 100mm in diameter. the engine has to come out
the other way. There is a photo somewhere, see if I can find it, One of Andy's
