How do you remove gudgeon pins..
Okay I have removed the circlips from the pistons pins but they dont want to move, I read in the manual to use a 'slide drift' or something like
that. Is there some little trick to it ? It is a Type 1 1200cc if that makes any difference ?

i used a bit of brass bar and tapped them out very gently
(it was turned down to use as spigot aligning tool)

I always use a trans spigot shaft, brass is good but get the end turned down so that it fits inside the pin.

I use a big G clamp, and sockets small ones down the push side and big on the exit, I only take them out halfway anyway!

If "tapping" out the pins, always ensure that the pistons are firmly backed up so there are no side loads on the big end bearings when the pins are
tapped.
Damage to the bearings can result.
The G clamp method avoids side impact loads on the conrods and pistons

Heat the piston and it will slide straight out, hot water will to the job or oxy, but go careful with oxy. Even the sunshine direct on to the
pistons will also help. Has worked wonders numerous times for me.
